M.Ed Elementary Education
Always having a love for children, I received my Masters of Education degree from the University of New Hampshire in 2003.
I have been teaching In the Derry Cooperative School District for 15 years, 14 of those years with 2nd graders. Always finding a way to begin the day with Morning Meeting, I have long since recognized the importance of children coming together as a community, sharing what is on their minds and learning how to master their feelings.
After having my first child in 2009, I pursued yoga as a means of physical fitness and it soon grew into a love of the practice both physically and mentally.
Soon after, I began incorporating yoga asanas in the classroom as well as breathing techniques, guided relaxation and lessons around social and emotional well-being.
In 2017, I received my RYT 200 through Yoga NH in Concord, NH and through Empower Yoga Center in Portsmouth, NH. The invaluable experience of going through the training coupled with first hand experience of the changing needs of children today, led me to a desire to share the richness that yoga and mindfulness can bring to the youth.
I also have a deep interest and passion in helping others as well as myself, to carve out time to destress physically and mentally in this busy, busy world. I completed my Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra Certification in 2019 and continue to be more and more drawn to the Restorative Practice.
The self growth journey is a never ending one, which I love, as I look forward to learning from, connecting with and practicing alongside you.
